after only one short introduction lesson, Eri sensei was able to choose interesting reading material that meets my goals and modify it to my level while also challenging me. She is very good at interjecting with small corrections without being obtrusive and once she is confident I understand the section of text, uses very skillful questioning techniques to help me use and consolidate new words and phrases. She has also identified my short and long term goals, and devised a way for me to get there through progressively more difficult reading material. I can already tell that my Japanese will turn a corner with Eri Sensei's instruction

Eri Sensei is an outstanding Japanese teacher. Her patience and calm demeanor create a supportive learning environment where I feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. She is always well-prepared and tailors each lesson to my individual needs, making learning both effective and enjoyable. Eri Sensei’s dedication and positive attitude have significantly boosted my confidence in using Japanese. I highly recommend her lessons to anyone looking to learn Japanese with a fantastic teacher.

Always such a fantastic class with Eri-sensei!

It has been little over two years since I started with Eriko Sensei, but it does not feel like it has been that long because the classes are relaxing, easy to follow, and learning can be without much effort. I have seen my Japanese go from less than 10% comprehension and speaking, to (depending on the context and source) being able to understand and make sense of most what I hear. I was able to travel to Japan and communicate in Japanese as well as understand most things, which is very encouraging. There is always room for improvement, so I will continue learning. Thank-you.

Really great teacher. Super friendly and always asks to make sure I understand. She also has these really cute powerpoints that she made herself that are based on the genki textbook.

The classes so far are extremely enjoyable. I really appreciate her approach of the use of the book GENKI, as this book is extremely descriptive. Mixing the material from the book and having her own material really helps to grasp the concept of the material for next lesson and tie everything together.
