So.. About me..
I live in southern Brazil. yup, we have winter. Mild ones.
My town is Rio do Sul, in the state of Santa Catarina.

I love animals, nature, dinosaurs, psychology, cooking, rollerblading, swimming, photography, painting, bonsai videos, tech videos, dictionaries (no wonder), languages ... even the ones I'll never speak.
I love talking to people and getting to know them.

I have worked in all kinds of settings.
Schools, big and small.
Communicative, lexic, audiolingual, active methodologies.
I've been a translator, interpreter, ghost writer, teacher.
...
Anyway, some years ago I started teaching my own way, and that's why I'm still here.
Teaching and learning organically, autonomously, functionally.
Using mistakes productively.
Not for shaming or making you anxious.
Making language real.
Not a PDF or Power Point.
It's language. It makes sense while there's communication.

I will help you speak by using a range of techniques.
You will ASK questions, RESPOND, DESCRIBE, have INSIGHTS and all that.
We will basically interact in real ways, but linguistically-focused 100% of the time.

Language doesn't get absorbed when you are too uncomfortable, or too comfortable.

Jackson is really great and dynamic! He focuses on engaging with the language, not just checking certain boxes, which I really appreciate. I really felt like I was an active part of the experience, and that the mix of outputting and receiving input in Portuguese was really good. Overall, it was an outstanding lesson and I felt highly engaged for the entire class time. 10/10 would recommend!

Jackson is a passionate and patient teacher. I booked 20 Portuguese classes with him before my trip to Brazil. I had known the language a little but not enough to speak. All our classes were completely in Portuguese, English only when it was ultimately necessary. This immersive method is the best. I think that Jackson's aim was to make me love the language and he did succeed. Thank you <3
