Hi everyone! My name is Kimi. I’m from Hokkaido Japan. I have lived in NZ and Australia for over 13 years and I can understand English very well. While overseas, I worked as a tour guide and chef so I love cooking,traveling, craft and outdoor activities. When I first arrived in Australia, my english was very poor. Slowly built up my english conversation skills so I know very well how you feel during the learning process and I can help you best plan to learn Japanese. I am teaching English to Japanese at home and Japanese to anyone that wishes to learn here on italki. I believe this platform is a good way to learn another language. learning about your interests in another language keeps you interested and engaged in the learning material so you can have fun while studying! My lesson style is mainly conversational. I believed the quickest way to get Japanese is you need to talk in Japanese frequently and often. Just as important is you need to think and create what you want to say in each situation. For these reasons I will ask you lots of things about yourself first then you can try your best answer and I will help you obtain more Japanese. Or if you would like to talk to me with your own questions thats fine. But don't worry if you don't have any Japanese yet! I can make some topics and teach you each sentence. If you prefer to follow a textbook, that's fine too. lets get started !!5.0

I always have a good lesson with Kimi. We review past material and she introduces new material using examples and asks questions that challenge my abilities. I never fail to learn something about Japanese culture that I didn't know before. In this past lesson she explained a usage of a word, or grammar point, that is fairly new in Japan. It was fascinating. Another example of how languages are not static and change constantly. I highly recommend Kimi to anyone wanting to learn Japanese.

Kimi is the best teacher! She is so personable & always super interesting to talk to about everything and anything. She has taught me so much in the last 2 years and I am finally feeling better about speaking my thoughts as they come into my head and can communicate with other people! I love talking about travelling, family, you tubing and cooking as Kimi is a pro at all of them! Lessons are always tailored to exactly what I am needing that day talking in natural Japanese.
I can't recommend her high enough! ^_^

Kimi always knows how to find my weaknesses and get me to work on them...and that's good. She's the best!
