Hello! My name is Alek, and I was born and raised in the United States. Throughout my English teaching career, I've taught hundreds of learners of all ages and all English levels. My journey has taken me to physical and virtual classrooms on four continents. I speak three languages fluently and am learning four more.
I have many passions and hobbies, including international travel, riding bicycles, sustainability, plant-based dieting, language learning, hiking, tea and coffee, dancing, and cats.
Topics I enjoy discussing during class include politics and current events, history, world culture (including yours), and food.

I was the English Language Learners Program Coordinator at a refugee resettlement agency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have a CELTA certification, which qualifies me to teach English to all speakers of other languages.
I taught at an after-school English center for children (ages 4-14) in Hanoi, Vietnam, for a year. Later, I designed and taught free classes to kids in the rural Nghệ An province (in the open air!)
I taught English for 6.5 months at an institute in Cusco. I have experience teaching all English learners, from basic to fluent, teenagers to adults. I also taught ESL to Latino migrants in Minneapolis as a volunteer.
I have nearly six years of experience teaching English remotely.我的課程內容與教學風格
I believe students learn most efficiently when they're actively engaged and having fun during the lesson. I make my lessons as interactive as possible. My lessons are very functional, so we'll learn things that you'll use every day. I'm very patient and an effective communicator.
My teaching philosophy is - be confident, have fun, and don't be afraid of mistakes. We learn through our errors, as I've learned countless times while studying foreign languages!

2018 - 2019
English teacherI taught six classes a day from Monday to Friday. My students ranged from teenagers (12-16) to adults and spanned all levels of English, from basic to fluent conversation classes.
2019 - 2020

My focus was on communication in English. I also conducted and graded English exams (including oral tests) and maintained detailed progress reports on all students in my classes.
