Hello, I'm Amanda! I'm from Wisconsin in the United States. I am a Professional English teacher (italki is not accepting upgrades to Professional Teachers in English, at the moment). I currently work for a non-profit organization that provides free English lessons to refugee adults.
I love laughing and having fun during lessons which will make it feel less like a lesson and more like chatting with a friend. When you take a lesson with me, my goal is to make you feel comfortable to speak and make mistakes.
I love traveling and have been to 30 different countries (ask me if I've been to yours!). I also adore food, animals, gardening, crafting, and learning new languages!

Experience:
I've been a language learner for most of my life so I understand what it's like to learn a new language. I received my Bachelor's degree in French and Italian studies and received a minor in Mandarin Chinese. Recently, I have been continuing my language studies through online Korean classes.
I also taught English abroad for two years. I taught oral English at a university in Chongqing 重庆, China and I also taught high school English in Reims, France through the TAPIF program.我的課程內容與教學風格

Education Program ManagerI work as the Education Program Manager for ELNOR (the English Language Network of Refugees). I teach English as a second language to refugee adults from levels A1-B1 and students preparing for the IELTS exam (B2+). I also write curriculum and lesson plans for my company and ensure that it follows the CEFR guidelines.

Best teacher I've ever had at Italki. Amanda is very kind, charismatic, attentive and patient. She teaches very well, is dedicated and offers personalized classes focused on the student's greatest difficulties. Hours of studying pass without us noticing.

Amanda is great as a tutor and great as a person!! The only problem was "Time flew!"In our first class, we got to know each other, we talked about the places we live in, I told her about some experiences I had with languages, and ultimately Amanda corrected a video transcript I made. That was a great class. Thanks, Amanda!!

Amanda is an outstanding English teacher. Not only does she have a lot of experience under her belt, but she also has an upbeat attitude toward students' difficulties and a good sense of humor. I can't recommend her classes strongly enough. She really hits them out of the ballpark!
