My name is Denise, and I am a native German speaker and a certified teacher of German as a foreign language. Since I have learned both English and Spanish, I understand the difficulties of mastering a new language. My personal experience allows me to support you with effective learning strategies, empathy, and encouragement. Before becoming a full-time teacher, I worked as a project manager in marketing, which gave me valuable insights into the language and culture of the German business world.
I’m here to help you achieve your goals in a fun and engaging way. Let’s make your German journey enjoyable and successful together!
My goal is to support you on your German learning journey — whether you’re starting from scratch, preparing for work-related situations, or aiming to perfect your skills. I want to create a space where you feel confident and unafraid to make mistakes. In addition to general lessons, I offer Business German for professionals who wish to improve their communication at work — in interviews, meetings, or presentations. I tailor lessons to your needs and interests to make learning both enjoyable and effective.
Lessons take place via *Google Meet* (not the italki Classroom)!
Conversational Practice: Speak German naturally. We discuss topics and use videos or articles to practice vocabulary and build confidence.

TelC is a reputable institution in Germany for language exams, e.g., studying at a German university or applying for citizenship in Germany. The course included: Lesson planning, International competence, integrative teaching, and course planning to reach the next level (A1-C2). I also attended a module specialized in online teaching to learn about online tools for preparing learning material and homework.

Denise is clearly an experienced German teacher, and the best among several that I have had before. This experience shows in the clarity of teaching, knowledge of teaching topics, and structure of discourse. We identify and work on weaknesses, and Denise takes care to go beyond the comfort zone of the student without going too far. In my opinion, this is the optimal way to learn for anyone. As a teacher, the rapport is good and is established on clear communication. Altogether, I would certainly recommend Denise ahead of all other teachers I have had before.

Denise is a fabulous teacher. She is patient, organized, and funny. I tried a couple of other teachers here before deciding to work exclusively with her. I am a teacher myself, and I appreciate when a teacher not only follows a student’s wishes, but also does not hesitate to point out what the student actually needs. That shows how caring Denise is. Highly recommended!
