Hello, I’m Lily! A South African TEFL teacher with 7 years of experience, now based in Norway. I specialize in helping busy professionals, kids (4-15), and learners overcoming language anxiety—thanks to my psychology background and own struggles mastering Mandarin and Norwegian! Having lived in China, Malaysia, South Africa and Norway, I weave multicultural insights into lessons. I have 7 years experience in teaching English as a foreign language in China and online. I've been teaching on italki for over 5 years. I have completed a 120hr TEFL certificate. I absolutely love and feel very blessed to be part of someone's English learning journey as I know it is extremely vital to so many.

My classes can either be casual or structured, depending on the student's needs. The lessons can be conversation-based or I can work out a syllabus to suit YOUR needs for your English learning journey. Whether it be pronunciation, grammar, reading or comprehension, I can tailor the class to your individual goals. But more importantly, I want to be more than a teacher to you. I want to help you evolve as a human being so doors all around the world can open up for you.

Before I started with italki, I had a problem with confidence and every time I had to speak English, it was scary for me because I was really nervous. So I am really glad I've chosen Lily. Conversations with Lily are always relaxed and I would say we always have a really great time. So, I think I've already shaken off most of my anxiety toward speaking English. Now speaking English is really FUN for me, and I am already looking forward to another lesson with Lily.

My name is Vincenzo and I highly recommend this English teacher on italki!
She always made the lessons fun and engaging for my daughter, combining conversation, games, and storytelling. She used YouTube videos and interesting readings about animals and prehistoric creatures, perfectly matching my daughter’s passions.
