Welcome to my teacher profile!
My name is Bálint, I'm 23 years old, and I'm from Hungary.
I'm studying to become a teacher of English and Portuguese.
I have been teaching Hungarian and English for 6 years now, and I can say that I have a lot of experience when it comes to teaching these languages.
Along with that, I've also just started working at a language school, teaching Portuguese.
I'm obsessed with Brazil and Brazilian culture. I like to think of myself as a self-proclaimed cultural ambassador of Brazil of some sorts, given that I always do my best to share a little bit of my love when it comes to Brazilian gastronomy, culture, music etc.
Same goes for Hungarian, obviously! :)我的教學經歷
I'm quite a youthful teacher, so I really like incorporating memes and contemporary cultural elements into our lessons.
I believe that when we are learning a language, we aren't actually just learning the language. We are learning cultural elements, traditions, at times even a completely new way of thinking.
During our lessons, I'll be sure to guide you through the neverending maze of Hungarian culture as well, introducing colloquialisms and useful phrases which we actually use during our everyday life.
I think it's important to always encourage, as this can increase our motivation to continue learning even when we don't feel like we are making progress.

For teaching Hungarian from 0, I like starting with PowerPoint presentations in order to introduce you to the world of Hungarian, after which we are going to use a book.
For people who are more advanced, I will offer conversational lessons, making a PowerPoint presentation revolving around a certain topic and holding a conversation with you about it.
During the lesson, I might spontaneously show you memes and songs depending on the context of what we are learning.我的教材

And just like that, it's been a whole academic year of learning Hungarian with Bálint. He shows the same enthusiasm as in the first lesson, which motivates me to keep going. We always start with a bit of conversation (he always helps me find the words, of course!) and then we move to grammar/vocabulary exercises. Bálint is very patient and kind. It's a long ride, the one of learning Hungarian, but Bálint makes it fun!

Bálint is a good teacher. Patient and friendly, we used the MagyarOK book for lessons, and he always shared great tips about hungarian culture. We also practiced speaking about daily topics which is great.
