He makes otherwise boring material fun and focused on what you need. I highly recommend this instructor.

He's very knowledgeable in not just Japanese, but vocal techniques that are useful for voice acting and can be applied for singing too. Being able to use your favorite TV show, drama or movie scenes to learn is also really fun! I highly recommend him. Thank you :)

very creative teaching method. He uses your favorite Japanese entertainment, official Japanese MEXT educational material, and Genki language learning material. Everything is about listening and repeating what you watch and and listen. it's difficult because the natural speaking speed of the Japanese is quite fast, but if you want results and you want them fast, he is the best at what he teaches.

I'm a complete beginner in Japanese and I have been studying with Makino Sensei for a while. I really enjoyed his lessons. He encourages me to speak and helps correct my mistakes. I feel that it's very effective to learn Japanese by speaking because it forces me to consolidate whatever I've learned into spoken sentences. Makino Sensei is very patient and fun, and the class materials he prepared are very helpful!
