This is my 15th lesson with まりこ先生 and she is excellent. She is really good at explaining grammar and the fundamentals of speaking. She gives practical examples and let's you figure out stuff for yourself without feeling rushed or stressed out if you make a mistake. Mariko-sensei is also a very visual person so she's able to show you the sentence structures and colour them in a way that makes sense if that helps you learn. She listens and is very encouraging while letting you practice your Japanese in a welcoming environment. If you want to get strong fundamentals or even fill in any knowledge gaps, Mariko sensei is an excellent teacher.

Continued chatting about Japanese culture, in particular, Restaurants and Cafes. Mariko writes down vocabulary on a Google Document so I can copy to my Anki after each lesson which is super helpful for remembering words and sentences. Thanks as always Mariko 😊

This was my 60th and last lesson with Mariko, due to her starting on a new career path. We always had fun lessons and I always looked forward to talking with her. If you’re looking for someone to improve your Japanese, Mariko is the one to guide you and a hero! The Japanese culture has been a motivation to my language learning. Despite of not many Japanese surrounding in my area, I’m able to hold everything of what I know so far. Mariko is absolutely 100% rewarding for my Japanese learning journey. I can’t stop learning, so I make a massive effort in order to progress something new.

I'll be honest it was mostly just chatting, but Mario has so much charisma and was able to keep the conversation going the whole lesson! It was so much fun!
