Hi everyone!
My name’s Nico, I am French yet I am the only one in my family who was born in France. Indeed, I was raised by a Venezuelan dad and a Spanish mother. I therefore grew up in a multicultural background, which spurred me to learn and teach foreign languages. After my 18th birthday, I moved to the UK where I stayed for 5 years, and obtained a teaching certificate (PTTLS) as well as worked as a French teacher. I then moved to Spain where I graduated in languages, and eventually moved to Italy where I’ve been living and working as an English and French teacher for Italian and international companies. Apart from teaching, I am a Shiatsu practitioner, and I love hiking in the mountains.我的教學經歷
From my experience, I have realized that most of my students who struggle with learning languages do so because of bad memories from school that led to low self-confidence.
Plus, their fear of making mistakes adds up tension and impedes them from enjoying the whole process.
That’s why my main priority, as a teacher, is to teach students the right approach to speaking without fear of making mistakes, and if the fear does arise, how to welcome it and relax into it.我的課程內容與教學風格
As a firm believer that communicating in a relaxed and simple way is more important than speaking perfectly at all cost, I make my students practice a lot on listening and conversation. Once they feel they’re in a safe zone, we can tackle together Grammar, tweak Pronunciation and expand Vocabulary.
The focus of my lessons is on the speaking side of things, even though I help with text corrections, sentence rewriting and translation (provided it’s from and to a language I know).
I make my students practice in all tenses early on, teach them idiomatic phrases, I make them ask questions related to the topic we’re dealing with, so they can develop a solid fluency.我的教材
