Hello!
I'm Henrik, and I am a Dane, currently living in Germany.
A little bit about my professional background: I have a Bachelor’s in Education, from which I am a certified English, Danish (As well as history and special needs education) teacher. I have been working in Danish school for 4 years, I have also completed a Master of Education in "IT-Educational Design" in 2021.
I am passionate about cultural exchange and travel, and I thoroughly believe that with proper use of technology, every person can reach a higher intercultural competence and thereby become more openminded towards other people, and that this will remove hate and suffering from the world.
As a teacher I am a huge disciple of informal learning. I don't believe that grammar books and filling in blanks on worksheets is the way in which a language, or anything for that matter, should be learned. It is neither fun, nor in my experience particularly effective. Of course, as a beginner, some basic grammar is needed, but as soon as my students have enough vocabulary to start using the language in meaningful sentences and conversations, I seek to activate this language in my student in a fun and engaging way.
Having a good time, having fun while learning, as well as keeping my teaching goal oriented towards the needs of my student is of uttermost importance.

I was genuinely surprised by how effective the first class was. Before our lesson, I had actually been watching some Danish videos on YouTube, and only later realized that Henrik was the one behind them, which was a great surprise.
Henrik is patient, professional, and straight to the point, with a level of empathy that I truly appreciate. He quickly adapted the lesson to a complete beginner level and provided clear, practical explanations from the start.
I also really value that he shares materials for the next classes, which gives access to valuable content and helps me stay on track between lessons.
As the first Danish teacher I reached out to, I feel I made the right choice.
