Hi there! My name is Sharon, and I’m a native German speaker. I’ve been living in Bolivia, South America, for 13 years, so I know exactly what it feels like to be ‘lost in translation’ ;-) As a former trilingual assistant, I’ve always enjoyed studying languages. However, learning a new language also introduces you to a new culture. Since living in Bolivia, I’ve come to appreciate the positive aspects of both cultures. I love the German values of punctuality and reliability, but now, I also cherish the laid-back Bolivian lifestyle and no longer feel stressed out all the time. When I’m not teaching, I love to bake German cakes and pastries, as I miss them dearly from Germany!我的教學經歷
I am a foreign language correspondent for English and Spanish, certified by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Freiburg, Germany. I began working as an English and German teacher about 8 years ago and have taught students of various age groups and cultural backgrounds. I have experience teaching both large and small groups offline, as well as offering one-on-one lessons online. 我的課程內容與教學風格
One thing all students have in common is that they only make progress by actually speaking the language and having someone by their side to correct mistakes in a friendly and patient way. I always encourage my students to speak as much as possible and not to worry excessively if their pronunciation or grammar isn't perfect at the beginning. Every student is unique, and so are their needs. That's why I adapt my lessons to suit the specific goals of each student, whether they are preparing for an exam, getting ready for their next stay in Germany, or simply wanting to practice their speaking skills. I always look forward to my German class with Sharon. She has a way of encouraging me to talk even though my German is so ungrammatical! She has a way of correcting you without making you feel dumb, and I really appreciate her friendly but very professional style of teaching. She has introduced me to various cultural and historical topics of interest that has widened my understanding of Germanic culture.

Fantastic lesson! Over the years of taking lessons from Sharon, I have noticed a distinct increase in my son's confidence, vocabulary and fluency in German. She gives him so much opportunity to speak and expand on his ideas and always challenges him with more complex vocabulary. His lessons with her are one of the highlights of his week! Sharon is an amazing teacher, very helpful and patient. We talk about everyday things, but we also use some teaching materials. For example, I describe a picture, or we talk about what was in the video. She corrects my mistakes and writes unknown words to me in the chat. The class goes by very quickly. I highly recommend Sharon.
