Giovanni Fazzone

Giovanni is a great teacher! He's encouraging, supportive, and very eager to help. He really goes out of his way to provide everything you need to succeed in learning Italian. Highly recommended!

Today we improved my understanding of prepositions which have been difficult for me. The lesson helped me better understand when to use what prepositions with which articles in a sentence.

Today Giovanni helped me refine a written piece for my Italian course. This was a good experience because the topic matter required complex sentence structures. As is common, in several places I used constructions that were more direct English-Italian translations than natural Italian. So identifying these structures with Giovanni was helpful in refining my translation skills. Furthermore, in several places, my constructions were in fact naturalistic, so getting this feedback from Giovanni was also great and validates the progress I have made.

Oggi abbiamo avuto una lezione emozionante! We looked at a homework that included pictures from my weekend, and Giovanni even shared some pictures for his life! This type of studying is fun because it gives great examples of typical conversations, and it makes me feel like Giovanni is a great friend instead of a teacher. Grazie Giovanni- a domani!

This was an extra session that was a continuation of yesterday's session. Still very successful and helpful. I look forward to the next session, as always!

As usual, we commenced with conversation where we discussed various more complex topics like religion. Giovanni introduced some new related terminology that I was able to incorporate. Even now, some Italian words are challenging to pronounce because even though they are structurally similar to their English equivalents, the stresses occur in different places. So it's great to be able to make these mistakes in a learning environment. And as always, Giovanni supports with the correct pronunciations. We finished the lesson with continuing review of the many exceptions of the passato remoto! Another good thing here is that we use topics from our conversations to create various sentences with different verbs in the passato remoto - that's actually always a lot of fun!
