Hi, there, I’m Shay. I’m from Chengdu China, which is the hometown of panda. :D - I've had 1000+ hours of Chinese teaching experience online for students at all levels and with different needs. (HSK test, Oral skills, Writing skills, and Reading skills) - I have a TESOL certificate, so I can speak quite fluent English. - I used to work with an international language school for about 7 years, which equipped me with intercultural communication skills. - I have a wide range of interests, trust me, I'm a good friend to chat with. - for beginner and elementary students(or anyone who needs a structured lesson), my lessons are well-structured and with specific goals. You will see a clear improvement by each lesson. If we use a textbook, I'll always customize it to make it more authentic and useful, so you won't feel you speak like a robot even at the early stage. - for intermediate+ students(who wants to mainly focus on speaking) we can always immerse naturally in an interesting topic. I'll help you identify your weakness and fix your problems without hurting your fluency. I know many people say Chinese is hard. However, Once you have a class with me, you'll know that is not true! :D

This was my 100th lesson with Shay, and I am extremely happy to have her as my teacher. Every lesson with Shay is fun and exciting, and I always look forward to them. She is very supportive, and never makes me feel embarrassed when I forget something, or when I say the wrong word. She explains things very clearly, and is very patient. I am thankful to have the opportunity to learn from her!

Shay was very patient with my speed, but challenged me in my reading, listening, and speaking throughout the class. Within a few lessons, I have greatly expanding my vocabulary alongside my comprehension in Mandarin to the point where my native Chinese friends have made comments on my speaking/listening. Would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn regardless of your level.
