Hi! I'm Shyam, a CELTA-certified, native American English speaker currently in Austin, Texas . I was born in New York City to Indian parents, so I also speak a dialect of Southern India called Konkani.
After studying economics/anthropology in college, I worked for many years in financial services at a large bank in NYC before deciding to embark on a solo travel journey. Since then, I've built experience teaching in various settings, including at a language nonprofit in Colombia and a language school in Mexico.
Besides traveling as a digital nomad, I love meeting new people, dancing (Bhangra, Latin, Hip Hop), activities like tennis and surfing, and discovering local foods!我的教學經歷
I first started tutoring in high school and have experience teaching in both casual and formal environments. I've taught English, math, SATs, computers, and even tennis.
As a patient and compassionate person, I enjoy guiding others on reaching their goals and seeing them succeed. In working with such a diverse range of individuals globally, I greatly appreciate the unique skills and background each student brings.我的課程內容與教學風格
I am flexible and will do my best to support you, so I will adjust lessons based on your interests, motivations, and goals. When we first meet, I'd hope to simply get to know you a bit more and understand your needs. The lessons will mainly focus on conversational practice and real-life scenarios, which I believe is essential for becoming more comfortable and confident with a language.
I will be providing you with personalized feedback at the end of each 60-minute conversational class along the way to help you. Let's go!5.0

Had my first lesson with Shyam learning Konkani and the 30 minutes I had learning with him were worth more than many hours of learning on my own. He did a great job of gauging where to start and has tailored my starting sentences to my needs so I feel I'm making huge strides right off the bat. Would recommend

I really enjoyed my Konkani lesson with Shyam. He was very knowledgeable and has a calm vibe about him, which is helpful when trying to learn a new language. I plan to book another lesson with Shyam again and would recommend him to anyone who is trying to learn the basics of Konkani.
