Born and raised in Istanbul, I’m a linguist and Turkologist fluent in various languages. My passion? Unlocking Turkish through its rich history, playful etymology, and philosophical depth—like guiding you through a lively meyhane (tavern) conversation.
I specialize in making Turkish for travelers, professionals, and curious minds. Whether dissecting Ottoman proverbs or decoding street slang, I blend humor with structure, turning lessons into cultural adventures. Let’s make teşekkür ederim roll off your tongue like an Istanbul local!
Since my highschool and university period, I have been teaching Turkish language and other social sciences such as History, Geography, Philosophy to both Turkish and foreign students. However, teaching Turkish to foreigners attracted me and I dedicated myself to teaching Turkish as foreign language. That's why I'm a passionate teacher. I am also disciplined and funny teacher. I give confidence to my students. Sincerity is very important to me. I am always there for my students and ready to help.

My aim is to teach the philosophy and logic of language. While teaching the language, I also make etymological and historical explanations. My students appreciate me for explaining it all in a funny way.

İlk olarak teorik sınavı geçtim ve daha sonra da gözetmen öğretmenler eşliğinde uygulama sınavını başarı ile tamamladım. 100 puan üzerin 82 alarak kursu başarıyla tamamladım. Efkan has an incredibly efficient teaching method! Maybe the best method ever! I just realized it because I'm currently working on a research project in which I find myself able to deal with some complicated historical materials independently. Given that I started learning Turkish with Efkan as a beginner 3 months ago, I think it's the best proof of how much I've benefited from his lessons so far ! 🤗
