Hi, I'm Alice. My Chinese name is Xiuxia. I'm from China. I'm accredited with a Celta (from Cambridge University) and a certificate in teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, as well as a first-class degree in digital education from the University of Manchester. Prospective PhD student at Warwick University. Chinese is my mother tongue, and I received an 8.5 in the Academic IELTS speaking test in 2023.我的教學經歷
I'm both a Chinese Mandarin and an English teacher for over 10 years. I was a corporate English teacher for 3 years, teaching general English and business English in companies including Intel, Huawai, Shangrila Hotels, Hainan Airlines etc; then helped students from training schools and high schools with their IELTS and TOEFL preparations, and now I have students at Oxford University, Imperial College London, etc. Then I worked for a university based in China, teaching general English, IELTS, TOEFL, and Chinese Mandarin. I've been a freelance Chinese Mandarin teacher since 2011, helping students from different countries to speak Mandarin fluently and prepare them for the HSK test.我的課程內容與教學風格
For English, I teach general English, business English, IELTS (Speaking, listening, reading and writing) and TOEFL (Speaking, listening, reading and writing) .
For Chinese Mandarin, I teach conversational Chinese, HSK as well as bespoke lessons.

Teaching English to Speakers of Adults - Cambridge University - 2020For non English native speakers, trainees have to reach C2 level in English to pass the pre-course tests and during the course, trainees need to accomplish 120 hours training.
PS. I attended the training last month, so the certificate takes 4-6 weeks to be delivered.

This was my first lesson and everything was perfect. Alice was on time and organized and completely ready. She quickly assessed my skills and adapted to make sure we focused on the areas where I need more practice and instruction. She gave me good hints (that I've not seen in books or elsewhere) to help with improving my mistakes and weak areas. I'm looking forward to more classes with her and I will make good progress in my Chinese with her as my teacher.
