Ângelo is an excellent teacher. He's patient and flexible, and does a great job at providing a semi-structured learning environment that focuses on developing conversation skills. 🙌 He's friendly and talkative enough to allay the inherent awkwardness of trying to have a video conversation in a language you only know bits & pieces of 😬 and has lots of interesting stories to tell 📚. He also provides a lot of cultural context to the language from a modern perspective that you wouldn't be likely to gain from a textbook. If you're not sure if you're "ready" for one-on-one practise yet, I recommend just jumping in! It's helped me to gain more confidence and became a bit less precious about making mistakes, and the regular cadence has meant that even when I'm too busy for any supplemental independent study, I'm still gaining a little more practise and exposure.

As always, a fun and engaging lesson covering topics I am interested in and find extremely useful. Having had weekly lessons with Ângelo for over a year now, I can safely say that he is the best, and most patient(!) language teacher I have ever had. His lessons are interesting, well planned and friendly. It is amazing to see how I am slowly but surely unpicking the mysteries of the Portuguese language, with no small thanks to Ângelo's lessons!

Ângelo is hands down the best! His classes are always well structured and conversations with him are not only interesting but great opportunities to apply learning while naturally expanding vocabulary. I’ve always struggled with boring textbooks and memorizing vocabulary lists, but was surprised how quickly and naturally it’s possible to learn and retain new information with Ângelo’s style of teaching which involves a smart balance of everything (and none of it is boring!) I look forward to many more classes with Ângelo!

I had a very enjoyable and helpful class with Ângelo. He's a great conversationalist and very patient and he was able to correct my mistakes without disrupting the flow of the discussion. He offered clear explanations when needed and is very organised with lots of materials. I'm looking forward to many more classes with him.
