Hi, my name is Elsa. I was born and raised in a Mayan community in Guatemala. I enjoy meeting new people because it's fascinating to listen to their experiences and goals in life. Also, having conversations about differences and similarities between our cultures and ideas is always an enriching experience.我的教學經歷
I consider myself a patient and passionate teacher. I understand the struggles that sometimes come with the learning process, but I also know the rewarding results after some practice. Talking about a wide variety of topics is one of my favorite parts of teaching because, as an open-minded person, I like learning from my students' points of view about all kinds of subjects. But I also get to share facts and information that can be interesting and important to them.我的課程內容與教學風格
Conversations are one of the most important elements of my classes. After some grammar, I like my students to use what they learn by speaking and making connections with their personal or professional experiences. I think grammar is important because it is a shortcut to understand the structure and patterns of a language. But I also use a lot of content for practice such as videos, songs, poems, stories, written exercises and many other interesting materials.我的教材

Learning K'iche' was so interesting and fun and Elsa made it very easy and enjoyable! Definitely recommend this teacher to learn a very unique Mayan language. I know I will be taking more lessons with her for sure!

Elsa is very good at teaching K'iche'. She uses lots of dialogues and examples and she explains grammar at the same time that you are learning pronunciation and new vocabulary. She also gives you several other resources that exist out there. She is very friendly and engages in conversation. I am not at the level yet but I look forward to the day where I can have a brief conversation in K'iche'.

The teacher had ample educational materials ready to make the lesson fun and informative. She also had an engaging teaching style and was able to answer all sorts of nuanced questions about the K'iche' language.
