Hi! I’m Sylvia, a certified Hindi teacher from India with 25 years of experience guiding students worldwide—from the US and UK to Brazil and the Middle East. I’m passionate about travel, reading, and discovering new cultures. Teaching Hindi lets me share the richness of Indian culture while learning about yours in return. I speak English, Konkani, and Marathi fluently, and I love connecting with people through language and shared curiosity. Looking forward to exploring Hindi and culture together!
As a Hindi teacher with a postgraduate and an M. Phil degree, I have successfully taught this beautiful language to thousands of students over the course of my career. With over 25 years of teaching experience of students across different proficiency levels from basic to advanced, I have enjoyed watching my students learn Hindi and converse with great ease and confidence.
I recognize that different students learn in different ways and I build a great rapport with my students that helps to make the teaching learning experience enjoyable.
I place importance to the students requirements of learning the language based on which I determine the right teaching methodology which will ensure the students best progress in the least possible time. My lessons are a combination of conversation, grammar, story reading, dialogue, roleplay, debates, translation exercises, precis writing on various topics. I vary my pace as per my students proficiency in the language so that they don't feel stress...我的教材

The stars aligned me perfectly with Sylvia! I have always had a desire to learn Hindi and the only teacher that was meant to fulfill this desire so perfectly was Sylvia!
I started my lessons about a month ago and today I read my first short story in Hindi!! Unbelievable!! Her ability to teach, encourage and guide me has been nothing short of incredible!
Not all teachers are created equal, and Sylvia by and large stands out. She is a professional to the core and I am so blessed to have found such talent to achieve a life goal that I didn't think I could conquer.

I am really enjoying lessons with Sylvia. Her lessons are well structured. She has taught me how to read and write in Devanagari script in a way that is far clearer and more durable than previous attempts. She makes the lessons interesting and is happy to answer all my questions. I like to have structure, and to understand the grammar properly, and Sylvia is the perfect teacher to support me in this.
