I live in the Yorkshire Dales, UK and enjoy spending my time motorbiking, mountain biking and walking my dog in the countryside. I was brought up in Manchester and I also lived in London for many years.
I love listening to music, I play keyboards, synth and also a little guitar. In terms of sport, I am a second degree black belt in taekwondo and used to teach as a club instructor.
As regards my career, I retired as a senior officer from the British Police Service two years ago and now it is my pleasure to spend time teaching English. I also teach part-time in UK Policing.
In my spare time I learn languages, principally French and I love to travel.我的教學經歷
I have a bachelor degree in Modern Language Studies BA (Hons), a UK City & Guilds award in Education and Training (teaching theory and practice), a TEFL Level 5 certificate and an online language training qualification. I have now also gained 2 years experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language.
In my career I received training as a 'Life Coach' and this has also enabled me to help many students with interview techniques, business English and their own personal development in life.
My personal style is relaxed, warm and friendly. To me, it is important to create a comfortable learning environment where my students feel at ease and have the confidence to grow in their ability.我的課程內容與教學風格
It is important for me to understand the level of your ability, where your strengths lie and what your objectives are, so I can identify your learning needs.
I will tailor the lesson to suit your needs and objectives. Through experience, I have found that there is no strict formula, every student is different, so we may decide to discuss topical subjects, look at specific grammar points and complete associated exercises, read material that interests you or check your pronunciation. In summary, I always ensure that material is fresh, varied, topical and interesting to you personally. Learning a language should always be a pleasure and so I always aim to make my lessons warm and enjoyable.我的教材

Police OfficerI was a Police Officer. I worked for 15 years in London and then 15 years in Manchester. I retired from the police in a senior position in 2020.
