Dia dhaoibh! My name's Liam and I'm an Irish Teacher here on italki. I grew up on the west coast of Ireland, on the outskirts of the Irish-speaking Gaeltacht region, Connemera. I've always had a deep interest and passion for the Irish language and the area that surrounded me in which it was spoken. I use the language frequently and I studied it as part of my degree in Limerick. I began as an italki teacher in August 2020. NOTE: At present moment I'm only accepting students with a level between A1 and B1. In other words, anyone who isn't yet comfortable with unscripted general conversation in Irish.

Experienced Irish teacher and founder of Learn Irish Online. I try to make the atmosphere between teacher and student quite relaxed and something that both of us will look forward to every week.

我的課程內容與教學風格

In formal education and language courses, we spend hours learning words like 'uncle, cousin and apartment' rather than words we use every sentence? 'So, because, then, excuse me, sorry'. For me, the way to learn the words/verbs/rules you need to speak Irish fluently is by diving straight into conversation. Even if your Irish is limited, you'll soon run into everything which comes up all the time in daily conversation, and we'll be able to learn it and establish a decent level of proficiency in the language in a fraction of the time which an eight-week course or semester module may enable you to do.
