Hi, I’m Ilaria from Genoa, Italy. I’m a teacher, translator, and PhD student in Modern Literatures. I speak Italian, Swedish, English, and French, and I'm currently learning Norwegian and Icelandic. Here are a few things about me:
• I love teaching and exploring other languages and cultures.
• My passion for languages started early — I began studying Norwegian on my own at 12, without an internet connection — so challenging!
• I have a deep passion for all things Scandinavian.
• I enjoy reading, ice skating, singing, and traveling.
• I adore animals, especially dogs, and I love learning from them too! :)
As a teacher, my first and main goal is to help my students become active users of the language they're studying. That's why, with my students, I try to speak as much as possible in the language they are learning and encourage them to do the same. I'm very professional, but I also want my students to feel comfortable during the lessons, so that they can have a great learning experience.
I know how hard it can be to learn a new language as a grown up, this is why I always try to adapt my lessons to my students and their needs, combining traditional methods and materials with interactive ones. Ilaria è un'insegnante eccezionale. Il suo metodo didattico è rigoroso e accademico, il che si traduce in un apprendimento solido e duraturo. Le sue lezioni sono intense, ma allo stesso tempo coinvolgenti e stimolanti: non ci si annoia mai e si esce da ogni classe con la sensazione di aver imparato davvero qualcosa di nuovo.
Sa come mantenere alta la motivazione degli studenti e crea un ambiente in cui la sfida intellettuale diventa qualcosa di entusiasmante piuttosto che intimidatorio. È raro trovare un'insegnante che riesca a unire rigore e dinamismo con tanta naturalezza.
La consiglio senza esitazione a chiunque voglia imparare l'italiano in modo serio e appassionato.

Absolutely great! This was my first lesson in Swedish and I recommend Ilaria wholeheartedly. We went from reading to grammar in a very fluid way. 5 stars for sure.
