I’m Jahdai, a passionate pronunciation and grammar specialist with over 13,800 lessons of experience teaching Spanish and professional English to students from all walks of life. Born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico, I bring authentic cultural insight to every lesson.
As a polyglot who has achieved near-native English, B2 French and German, some Portuguese, and even Japanese, I understand the nuances of language learning and love sharing techniques to help my students speak confidently and naturally.
Outside of teaching, I’m a proud father of two, and I enjoy hiking, meditating, and swimming—so you can expect lessons full of energy and fun!

English tutorI helped several fellow students with their English classes by offering personalized tutoring and coaching, especially for those preparing for the TOEFL exam. I also assisted classmates in studying for their midterm and final exams, creating tailored study plans and practice exercises to boost their confidence and results. Through this experience, I developed strong communication and teaching skills, learned how to adapt explanations to different learning styles, and gained a passion for helping

Community TutorI have been teaching and coaching students in Spanish and English on iTalki, a role that has grown into my true passion. Every day, I tailor my approach by employing diverse methodologies and strategies to meet each student’s unique needs and learning style. Currently, I am developing an online phonetics course to deepen my expertise and provide even more effective support, especially in helping students master pronunciation with confidence.

During my time at university, I developed several skills that helped me understand how to improve processes, learned about management systems, efficient process development, and time management. My favorite classes were statistics, human resource management, design, and dynamics.

Mechanic assistantI worked as a mechanic assistant at a car shop, where I learned to work with my hands using precision, strength, and patience. This hands-on experience taught me to solve problems quickly, pay close attention to details, and handle tough situations with confidence. It built a strong work ethic and made me comfortable tackling any hands-on task.
2014 - 2019
Sales manI worked as a salesman selling home decor and furniture, gaining valuable experience that strengthened my communication skills. This job also gave me the opportunity to travel throughout Mexico, exposing me to diverse people and cultures that helped me grow personally and professionally.
2018 - 2021
EntrepeneurFor three years, I co-managed a small manufacturing business alongside my wife, overseeing daily operations and leading a team of over 20 employees. Our company specialized in producing high-quality decorative products crafted from resin and ceramic. In this role, I was responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing supply chains, and ensuring product quality, all while fostering a motivated and efficient work environment. This experience sharpened my leadership and problem-solving.

Superb, highly-experienced teacher. Great conversationalist. I have enjoyed more than 100 classes with Jahdai for over 2 years. We never know where the conversation is going to go, but it is always is a good time. The other thing is Jahdai always shows up to class without last minute cancellations (a very common problem with many other teachers on iTalki!) Hello Spanish learners! You can stop searching for your tutor right here. Jahdai is a fantastic teacher! I've taken many classes with him so far and my level of understanding and ability to converse have skyrocketed since i started studying with him. He's a language learning enthusiast so he really connects with students and understands their process of learning. He has near-native English so there's no lack of clear explanations that I need when I struggle with a difficult concept or gramatical construct. He's very patient and makes his classes enjoyable.
