・I live in Saitama, located north of Tokyo.
・I enjoy traveling, reading, and visiting museums. I also enjoy eating and drinking. My Google Map has many flags of "restaurants I want to try"! I am currently studying Nihon-shu(sake) and how to wear a kimono. I also host a podcast with a Japanese teacher friend of mine (please listen!).
・I started my career teaching Japanese 10 years ago. I quit my job at a bank and went to Canada for a working holiday, which changed my perspective and way of thinking. I then decided that I wanted a job where I could communicate with diverse people from all over the world, and that is how I ended up here.

Teaching Japanese for over 10 years. However…
・I have continuously studied Japanese teaching methods and other subjects.
・I have experience teaching students and corporate employees in Japan and abroad. I can teach a wide range of levels from beginner to advanced.
・In addition to Italki, I currently teach Japanese to international students and non-Japanese residents at a Japanese language school and organization in Tokyo. 我的課程內容與教學風格
−My teaching is based on years of experience and knowledge.−
1. Counseling
To improve your language skills, we need a map to help you reach your goals. To achieve this, I will regularly review your goals (long term and short term) and give you feedback to support your learning.
2. Encourage natural communication.
Practicing only with the teacher asking questions and the student answering is not a conversation. I will also give you lots of practice asking questions so that you can enjoy talking to Japanese people.
3. Atmosphere
Lessons are where you make mistakes and learn, so we try to create a relaxed atmosphere where you can talk about anything.我的教材

I super super love chatting with Megumi-sensei!! She's such an amazing conversationalist that I completely lost track of the time because I was having so much fun chatting with her!! I also really appreciate how she not only corrects what I'm saying but that she also gives suggestions for how to say things more naturally and gives me alternate ways of saying things. That way I always feel like I'm learning so much (grammar, vocab, usage) while also having SO much fun!! 楽しい話をありがとうございます！Looking forward to next lesson as always! :)

Another fabulous lesson with Megumi san! She makes learning and speaking Japanese so enjoyable with her patient and kind personality. I have already learned so much and can't wait for the next lesson.

I couldn't recommend Megumi-san more. Her lessons are customized to the subjects I want to know, and tailored in a way which best fits my method of learning. She's patient, understanding, and able to provide examples and hints to really make the information make sense to me.

Megumi san is such a patient and kind teacher. I have now had multiple lessons with her and I look forward to learning with her so much. Even though the Japanese language can be daunting on the surface, she completely puts her students at ease and breaks things down in a very simple and easy to understand way. She writes careful lesson notes and prepares materials so you have reference material to use and I find her feedback on the homework so helpful. I highly recommend booking a lesson with her!

This is my third lesson with Megumi san and I am so amazed at how much progress I have already made in such a short period of time. She is such a patient and kind teacher and always provides plenty of opportunity for me to practice the vocabulary and phrases we have learned together. I can't believe that I'm already having conversations in Japanese!
