Hallo! I'm Niko from Hamburg—home of crisp, neutral Hochdeutsch. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me strumming my guitar (music and language learning have more in common than you'd think!). Having learned languages myself, I know lessons need to stay engaging and practical. So we'll focus on real conversation, interactive drills, and maybe even some games—grammar only where it's truly necessary. And yes, German grammar is a thing, but I promise to make it as painless as possible. I provide all materials, so no need to buy books. Most importantly: make mistakes! That's literally how you progress. I'm here to coach you, not judge you. Let's get your German sounding natural—like a local! 🎸 Having learned a few languages myself, I know how important it is to keep lessons engaging and practical. That's why I try to do as many interactive exercises and drills as possible while keeping the grammar stuff to a minimum, where possible. But the truth is, you will have to learn some grammar when learning German, there's no way around it. But I promise I'll make sure to make the grammar parts as fun and engaging as possible. Plus I provide all the teaching material and exercise sheets, so you won't have to worry about getting books or anything like that. In my lessons, we'll do lots of conversation, interactive exercises/drills and maybe even some games. We'll also dive into the grammar where it is really necessary, but my approach is to expose you to as much real life German as possi...

Niko's classes are excellent. He brings interesting topics to discuss during class and he is on point when correcting mistakes. I feel like I am becoming slightly less boring in German after each lesson. :)

Classes with Nico are always resourceful and he makes language learning fun. I already learnt a lot in my first two classes with him. I really like how he uses several tools for learning, like daily vocab list, exercises, books, etc. He has a neutral German accent which is very easy to understand. I look forward to achieving higher levels of German language with him!

Niko is a FABULOUS instructor! He determines what your goals are and your current proficiency (I had essentially no experience with German). He then tailors lessons to your needs, desires, and ability. He ensures your pronunciation is correct, builds your vocabulary and understanding of grammar, and provides homework to improve your skills outside of classes. Niko is always friendly, helpful, and encouraging so I look forward to my lessons with him!
