Marianne

Marianne is a wonderful and experienced teacher. She has, of course, a lot of knowledge about the German (and Dutch) language, but is also interested in many other subjects, making the lessons more than just learning German. She is patient and does not seem to get tired of repeatedly made mistakes. She just explains one more time. This is a perfect way to improve my speaking skills.

Marianne is an amazing teacher. I have learned so much more in the last few months than the entire year I have been using Duolingo. She really helps you to understand the grammar, because without it, you have no hope of actually speaking German. She is always patient with me as I learn new concepts with the case system and everything. I definitely recommend her as your German teacher because she will teach you right the first time and make it as understandable as it can possibly be.

I have now been learning German with Marianne for two months and have found her lessons great and very helpful. I knew the grammar basics already however I was finding it very difficult to actively use the language. In our lessons we mostly talk and Marianne writes down what I say, how I said it, and corrects me, giving me alternative ways of expressing the same idea or explaining nuances in meaning. Also, we go through exercises tailored to my needs. All happens in a very relaxed setting. It's always fun to talk with Marianne as her culture, life experience and curiosity let's her connect with you and talk about many different subjects.

I've been learning Dutch with Marianne for over a month now and she has been a great teacher! She sets the pace just as I need and makes great use of my rusty German knowledge when teaching me Dutch. The materials she uses are diverse, and she puts a lot of emphasis on colloquial language instead of robotic dialogs. Even though I'm still a beginner, I'm already feeling more confident in speaking Dutch. She is also always on time and very well prepared, making sure that there is an agenda for each lesson. Not to mention that she is fun to talk to.

Marianne has been such a wonderful teacher. What I am looking to learn is rather specific, but she always has great material to work on that is relevant to what I am looking for. I would recommend her to anyone looking to learn German in an enjoyable and positive environment.

Had a great trial lesson with Marianne, I could immediately tell we would work well together! I plan to take her conversation course.
