Hey! My name is Misha, and I am teaching English and Czech on italki. I am both an American and Czech citizen. Czech is my native language, as I was born in Olomouc in the Czech Republic. However, for nearly the past nine years I have been living in the US, in the state of Oregon. Here I got my bachelor’s degree in Geography from an American university, where I studied entirely in English. I love languages, and after my studies I dedicated my free time to learning Spanish. Other things I enjoy are traveling, cooking, eating, reading and many other things. I am a curious person, so I am always learning something new.我的教學經歷
I have always loved languages, and I have learned English and Spanish, so I know how it is to learn a new language. As a community tutor I will focus on teaching you through conversations, because I know how important it is to hear the language being spoken as well as learning how to speak it yourself. It is essential to start using your new language to really get used to the way it is used and the patterns of the language, such as language structure, grammar, and word selection.我的課程內容與教學風格
My lessons will focus on having you speak Czech as much as possible. Before each lesson you can select a topic you would like to talk about with me. This way you can talk about what is interesting and important to you, and it will be more fun. We can also supplement the lessons with other things like articles, books, videos, anything you would like to focus on or get better at. In the end, I will adjust my teaching to you and your needs.
Canceling / rescheduling policy:
Please note that no rescheduling or canceling is possible 6 hours before lesson time. You will have to pay full price for the lesson you reserved.我的教材

I have scheduled several lessons with Misha now and will continue to do so. We cover topics of my choice - and when I do not have a specific idea in mind, she does. She has extraordinary patience and helps me go through a lot of repetition and exercises to ensure that I understand a concept. I have learned quite a bit from her and highly recommend her as a Czech teacher.

Misha is a great ally to have when learning Czech. As an American English speaker, Slavic languages are not by any stretch of the imagination easy. However, Misha's understanding of American culture, English and Czech make each lesson a great experience. She intelligently prepares materials so that concepts are stressed and practiced from multiple channels: listening, speaking, writing and relating to pictures. This keeps the lesson flowing and fun. She also has a great sense of humor and her enthusiasm for learning languages is infectious.
