I'm a qualified Finnish Language teacher currently living in Estonia. I have done my Master's in Finnish language and have worked in several different positions in different schools. In addition to my work itself, I am always working on various projects on the side. Currently I work in a field completely unrelated to teaching: online lessons are a therefore a somewhat serious hobby for me.

In my work I strive to respect the values of self-authority and open communication. Generally I am flexible, but demanding. I try to recognize, when a student needs encouragement to reach the goals the student has set for him/herself.
I like to have interactive lessons exchanging ideas and thoughts, specifically about languages. I try to be open about my own shortcomings: there are vast new and strange areas in every language, even for professionals.我的課程內容與教學風格
In my view, the key of learning a language is using the language as much as possible. Even though I don't believe in a single method, I do think languages could be taught more efficiently. Formal grammar should be a tool that helps in understanding a language and it's structure, not the basis of learning. This said, learning a language always requires effort and practice. I have no magic tricks and can not quarantee you will know Finnish in this or that time.我的教材

Лаури замечательный преподаватель. Чуткий и очень тактичный. Мой английский не на самом высоком уровне и мне очень тяжело даются уроки, но Лаури самый терпеливый учитель, которой мне попадался за весь мой опыт как студента. Lauri did a great job today explaining participles. Although it still takes me a lot of effort to understand these structures, which are not all in my native German, and there are so many aspects to pay attention to, I see things much more clearly now. So a big thank you!
