Nuno Azevedo

Nuno is by far the best language teacher I've ever met. I started learning PT from 0 with him back in June '21 through a language school, and by the time I moved to Portugal in Sept, I was able to communicate with people with no problems at all. Not only is he a good teacher, he is also super friendly & nice-- you can also tell how much he loves the Portuguese language (and literature). His classes are well balanced: he can teach proper Portuguese grammar, but also how people normally talk (slang, common grammar errors, etc). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I started working with Nuno in June 2021. I didn’t know any Portuguese at all. I was in a class and after a month I wanted to quit because it felt too hard. Nuno offered to tutor me so I could keep up with the class. He also encouraged me and explained things so well that learning became fun. Because of him I stuck with learning and now I am a B1 level. I am so grateful for his guidance and patience with me. I still continue to tutor with Nuno and highly recommend him to anyone new or advanced.

Nuno is amazing. I don't want to share him with other students but there is only so many hours in the day. Book him while you can!

Nuno is such an excellent teacher it makes me wish he spoke every language on Earth so everyone can book him haha! Great understanding of Portuguese grammar & vocab along with their Spanish counterparts which helps make the language less confusing and easier to use, combined with listening, speaking, writing and pronunciation practice that makes studying very efficient, along with great stories, resources, and cultural context that makes each lesson extremely fun! I eagerly await every lesson with Nuno!

I like working with Nuno. We do about a 50/50 split between speaking practice and theory, which works well for me. The first half is mostly in Portuguese, he asks me questions (what did you do on the weekend, etc), then we switch to more structured exercises from a textbook, which usually means a bit more explanation in English. I like this balance personally (but of course I'm sure he would adapt if you prefer something different). He is always friendly and easy to talk to. I highly recommend him!
