Hello! My name is Ivy.
I’m originally from Chengdu, China, and I’ve been living in the U.S. for many years.
I have over 20 years of teaching experience in education, and in the past 1–2 years, I’ve focused specifically on teaching Chinese. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, traveling, exploring different foods, and making videos about Chinese culture and daily life.
I truly enjoy meeting people from different countries and helping them understand modern Chinese language and culture. I’m friendly, patient, and always happy to support your learning journey.

I am a professional Chinese teacher with 1–2 years of experience teaching Mandarin to international learners.
I have over 20 years of experience in education overall, and I hold a Mandarin Proficiency Certificate as well as a California teaching credential in Chinese.
I teach students of different ages and levels, including beginners, intermediate learners, adult students, and heritage speakers. I enjoy helping students build confidence, improve pronunciation, and express themselves naturally in everyday situations.

Ivy has been a great teacher. We are working from a textbook and review new vocabulary and sentences every week with listening and speaking skills. She is very professional. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.

Ivy Shi is an excellent teacher, and her lesson was challenging, interesting and enjoyable. During the lesson she asked me a plethora of questions pertaining to a particular topic that I selected, and corrected my enunciation of certain words. I highly recommend Ivy to anyone wanting to improve their speaking and listening skills.
