Hi! 안녕하세요 :) I'm Jean, your future Korean teacher!
I’m from Seoul, South Korea — but originally from the Jeolla region, where the mountains are beautiful and people speak warmly (don’t worry, I don’t use dialects much!).
I love hiking, planning (yes, I’m that person who color-codes her schedule📒), watching all kinds of media, and chatting with people from different cultures.
I studied psychology and have lived in Japan, the US, and France — so I understand how exciting (and sometimes challenging) it can be to learn a new language.
This helps me deeply connect with your journey as a Korean learner.我的教學經歷
I currently work as a content editor at an education company, writing every day.
In the past, I’ve worked as a psychological counselor, barista, and math teacher.
Through these many experiences, I discovered what truly drives me:
✨ a love for language and helping others learn it.
I’ve been teaching Korean for over 5 years now — and I keep coming back to it with joy and dedication.
Language, to me, is more than just words.
It’s a bridge between hearts, cultures, and stories.
I’m here not only as a teacher, but as someone who listens, encourages, and grows with you.

오랫동안 한국어를 공부하는 것을 잠시 쉬었고 약간 긴장했어요. 하지만 지인 씨는 저를 자신있게 만들고 동기 부여 다시 생겼어요! 오늘도 수업 즐겨웠어요~ :)

Jean is a great conversationalist. She is super friendly, funny, and engaging in a way that makes conversation flow easily (or at least as easily as it can with a language barrier). I've had other teachers that interrupt the conversation to correct every mistake, but Jean lets conversation flow naturally and provides written suggestions afterwards that I am able to review on my own time. This method has definitely improved my speaking confidence since I don't have to have perfect grammar to get my point across. Her interesting topics and stories make me motivated to keep learning every day, and I always look forward to my lessons with her. Highly recommend!!
