My name is Nyaradzo Nyika. I am a native English speaker from Zimbabwe where I was born. For the past 18 years I've been living in South Africa. I have a B A (Hons) Degree in Industrial Psychology as well as a 240 hour TEFL certificate. I've always been fascinated with meeting people from different cultures and background. Teaching English as a foreign language provides me with that opportunity to meet, interact and also learn from different people around the world. In my spare time I enjoy cooking and baking, watching TV and taking nature walks.
我的教學經歷
I believe that learning should be fun and exciting. Therefore, I will try to incorporate some interesting activities in my lessons to keep the student engaged. I am approachable, relaxed and patient. I understand how difficult and frustrating it can be to learn a new language, that is why I’ll try by all means to be patient with my students. I’ll be able to adjust and move according to the student’s pace.
我的課程內容與教學風格
My lessons will be student centered. Focusing on the student’s areas of interest and what motivated them to learn English. To catch their attention and encourage participation, I will include activities like worksheets and quizzes were necessary. In my lessons, I will use a lot of TPR, especially to the younger learners and beginners, to assist them to understand what I’m trying to say. For kids, I'll incorporate the use of flashcards, puppets, realia and props to keep the kids interested and the lesson more fun.
