I graduated from a university in Fukuoka, where I majored in Cultural Studies. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a cabin crew member, which helped me develop strong communication skills and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity. I have also lived in Macau for 3 years and in France for 4 years, experiences that broadened my understanding of different languages and cultures. In addition to teaching, I work as a healing therapist. This work allows me to connect with people on a deeper level and support their emotional well-being — also value greatly in my approach to teaching. As a teacher, I focus on creating a safe and comfortable learning environment for students who are new to Japanese. My main focus is on beginners, especially absolute beginners who may feel nervous about speaking or making mistakes. In my lessons, I don’t rely heavily on textbooks or complicated grammar explanations. Instead, I teach simple and practical verb patterns and encourage students to use them immediately to create their own sentences. I enjoyed the conversation lesson. It was very engaging and comfortable, and I felt encouraged to speak more Japanese. Chikako-san explained new words very clearly and helped me understand how to use them naturally.

Chikako先生 gives you full attention when you speak and really internalizes what you say before sharing her thoughts. I've only had about 6 lessons with her but I already feel my Japanese improving. She gently teaches and corrects your errors, but most importantly, she makes the conversations really entertaining, engaging, and invigorating!
