Hello, my name is Ella and I have been working as an ESL tutor for over 5 years.
Before becoming a teacher I worked as a graphic designer and illustrator, and I have a degree in Visual Communication. I have a passion for the arts, creativity, music and cooking. I also am interested in learning about other cultures and traditions from around the world. I would like to think I am naturally patient, enthusiastic and fun loving. I think that sharing and bringing people together from all ages and backgrounds is very important.我的教學經歷
I have been teaching for over 5 years. Firstly, I went to Italy to teach in the English summer camps across the country. I taught in each camp for two weeks before moving on, which meant I got to worth with many different children. I returned the following year to repeat the experience.
In addition to this, I have been working as an online teacher since October 2018. I have a wealth of experience teaching different English to different nationalities, ages, and ability levels. I have taught in a one-to-one setting and in large groups. In addition to this, I obtained a qualification in exam preparation in 2021.
Now, I live and work in Japan as an ALT. Teaching in a local Highschool.我的課程內容與教學風格
As a teacher, I use my creative nature to support my students in learning. My lessons have a strong emphasis on using imagery for more basic learners and games and exercises for intermediate to advanced learners. I think that learning should be fun at any age! I use a variety of strategies to help learners understand different grammar topics or sentence patterns, and happily adapt my teaching style to match the learning style of my student. Their achievement and growth is the most important thing to me.我的教材

Senior ConsultantI have been an online tutor for Itutorgroup since autumn, 2018. I have attended numerous different training sessions in order to become the best teacher possible. In addition to this I have taught both children and adults of all language levels on this platform. These lessons have also been in groups and an individual basis.
2018 - 2018
Camp TutorDuring the summer of 2018 I traveled across Italy teaching in summer schools. I changed school and location every two weeks. I loved this experience. It was very varied, as every class had a different mixture of ages, and ability levels. This helps me with my work at Italki because it taught me how to research different and fun ways to teach English with very few resources.
2019 - 2019
Camp TutorI returned the to work for Bell Beyond for in 2019. Teaching in summer schools helped me to strengthen my skills in teaching basic learners and expressing myself using body language, realia, and other methods to help students stay engaged and gain understanding of the target language.
2018 - 2021
Online TutorThis work experience helps me to be a great tutor on Italki as I have a range of different kinds of students on this platform. Some are looking for quick conversation practise, whilst others are wanting to prepare for IELTs exams. I have to adapt my teaching style for every student. I think that it is good to be diverse as an ESL tutor and this job has helped me to do that.

ALTI work with Highschool students to help practice their English speaking, put grammar terms into functional use and prepare them for their examinations for university entry.
