I’m a native Czech speaker with over 3,000 lessons taught on Italki. I hold a bachelor's degree in law and have seven years of experience in language teaching.
As a former Czech ice hockey player and a student of criminal law, I’m passionate about our history and culture. I’m excited to help you fall in love with the Czech language while sharing insights into our traditions—and maybe I'll throw in a tip or two on wearing socks with sandals!我的教學經歷
I have helped over 300 students learn Czech, gain fluency, and develop the self-confidence to communicate freely with Czechs. As a compassionate teacher with strong cultural awareness, I am sensitive to each student’s unique needs. I cultivate a love for learning by integrating multicultural teaching units and providing positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep my students motivated.

In my lessons, I embrace the motto “learning through play,” so don’t expect any dull moments! All my lessons are personalized to suit your needs, interests, and preferences.
We will primarily focus on conversation, which, in my experience, is the best way to master a language. However, we will also cover grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. If you’re starting with no knowledge of the Czech language, don’t worry—we’ll begin with the very basics.

I'm a pharmacist from the UK who moved to the Czech Republic to study a PhD. Matěj is an excellent teacher who in a short space of time has taken me from zero Czech to being able to understand native speakers and have conversations with them, which is something I never thought would be possible. As someone who has unsuccessfully tried to learn many languages in the past and especially struggled in high school with them, I have found Matěj's unique, interactive lesson structure really effective for me and I was able to learn more than I have ever learnt before.
