Salve/Χαῖρε! I’m Lucas from Rosario, Argentina. I teach the languages I love most: Latin and Ancient Greek.
My favorite hobbies are studying math, reading or listening to topics related to the ancient Greeks, science, theology, Jewish/Christian culture. I am also very skeptical of Hume's critic of miracle because, despite being a colossal nerd, I landed a girlfriend.
My goal is to form you into a literate citizen of Rome or Athens—grounded in grammar—rather than merely a clever, uneducated native.我的教學經歷
I specialize in teaching Latin and Ancient Greek through the natural method, emphasizing immersion and fluency. However, unlike modern languages, my focus is not on spoken conversation for daily use—instead, I prioritize deep textual understanding and grammatical precision.

In my Latin and Ancient Greek lessons, we dive straight into adapted texts—reading, discussing, and thinking in the language itself. While I avoid translation (we speak the language as much as possible), I clarify grammar in English when needed, highlighting quirks, patterns, or key concepts. Beyond reading, I encourage active composition—writing in the language is just as important as understanding it. This method balances immersive fluency with precise understanding of grammar, perfect for students who want to be fluent and understand how (and, when possible, also why) it works.我的教材

I have been taking Latin with Lucas for about a year, and just recently started learning Ancient Greek. In both subjects he has been a fantastic teacher, and having taken lessons with other teachers on italki, I can definitely say he is one of the best. He takes the time to explain key concepts and gives great exercises to ensure mastery. In just two Ancient Greek lessons I already feel significantly more capable in my reading comprehension, and speaking abilities.
