I’m Chia, a native Mandarin speaker from Taipei, Taiwan.
I specialize in teaching Mandarin as a second language, helping learners speak clearly and build strong foundations with structured, focused lessons.
I hold a degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and completed my master’s degree in Spain in cultural studies. This background allows me to explain Chinese not only how it is used, but also why it works the way it does.
I’m also familiar with the evolution of Chinese characters, both traditional and simplified, and enjoy making complex ideas practical.

I have over 9 years of experience teaching Mandarin to learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
I have taught beginner to higher-intermediate students in universities, private companies, and online programs, with teaching experience in Spain, the Philippines, and international settings.
I specialize in structured, goal-oriented lessons and work best with learners who are committed to long-term progress.

I really enjoyed my first Chinese lesson with Chia. She introduced me to pinyin and tones in a very clear and structured way, which made it easy to understand as a beginner. We also practiced a variety of vocabulary at the same time, which was fun and practical. Chia was excellent at explaining concepts, and her feedback with tones was patient and encouraging, which made me feel comfortable practicing. I'm looking forward to our next lesson !

I’ve completed more than 50 lessons with Chia and my progress has genuinely surprised me. When I started, I couldn’t speak at all. Now I can hold A2-level conversations about everyday topics and current events.
What makes her teaching stand out:
She creates personalized materials tailored to my interests rather than generic textbook exercises. Since I’m like Taiwanese culture, she incorporated cultural lessons into our sessions, which made learning feel less like work and more like genuine discovery.
When I forget something (which happens often), she re-explains with different examples until it clicks, never rushing or showing frustration.
The lessons are well-structured but flexible. She adapts based on how I’m doing that day and what I need most. Whether it’s pronunciation, grammar, or just conversational practice, she knows how to adjust.
