My name is Ari, and I’m from Korea. My first language is Korean, and I majored in Korean Language and Literature at a university in Korea. I also studied East Asian classical literature, so if you’re interested in history or classical texts, I’d be a great instructor for you. Japanese is my second language, which I naturally learned at home.
I currently live in Hawaiʻi and love traveling and sharing my experiences here. I enjoy taking photos and videos and creating content. I have many hobbies, including hiking, running, baking, cooking, knitting, drawing, painting, and watching movies. I can’t wait to learn about your interests and talk about them together!我的教學經歷
I have over 10 years of experience teaching Korean language, culture, and literature. I taught in Korea for 8 years and have been teaching in the United States for the past 6 years. My students are mostly native English speakers, with some Japanese learners as well. Currently, I teach U.S. military spouses in Hawaiʻi and offer online lessons through italki.
With a background in classical literature, I can read and analyze old Korean novels, historical texts, and newspapers, and support school projects or academic research. I have taught learners of all ages—from elementary students to adults—so I can confidently teach students from around 8 to 80+ years old. 😊 我的課程內容與教學風格
I focus on comprehensive teaching and believe learning—especially language learning—should be fun and meaningful. Language is about communicating who you are, sharing your interests, and understanding others in the target language.
At the same time, if you prefer a more academic approach, I can support that as well. I provide structured lessons using articles, novels, and logical reading and speaking practice. I also specialize in teaching formal and professional Korean that can be used confidently in business and academic settings.我的教材

Ari gave a lot of examples to help me practice conjugation of past, present, and future tenses. She also incorporated what she had just taught, into real world sentences that I could use in every day life. She also assigned homework to help reinforce and give more practice to the principles just taught. I felt that it was a very productive lesson.
