Hi there! I’m Amanda, a certified English as a Foreign or Second Language teacher from Illinois, USA. I specialize in teaching children and am known for my playful, friendly, and supportive teaching style. I love building caring connections with each student and helping them feel confident and excited about learning. My own experience learning two foreign languages—and living abroad—helps me connect with students from around the world. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and playing with my two silly dogs. With over 7 years of experience and more than 1,000 students taught, I bring professionalism, care, and creativity to every class. I’m trained in early childhood education and cross-cultural communication. I’m a patient teacher who gives 100% to connect with each child and create a space where confidence can bloom. I take time to understand how each student learns best and adapt my teaching accordingly. Mistakes are corrected in a gentle, playful way. Every child learns best in a supportive environment where they feel safe to express themselves. My goal is to build confidence—not perfection, encouraging growth through positivity and play. I tailor each lesson to the child’s learning style, celebrate all progress (big or small), and gently correct mistakes as a natural part of learning. At the heart of my teaching is the belief that the true goal of language learning is communication. I help children express themselves clearly, connect with others and build confidence in real-world situations.
Lessons are for children only (ages 4-12)
Lesson lengths are 25, 40, or 55 minutes.

This program covers early childhood education theories, best practices, and practical teaching strategies. Online English as a Second Language TeacherAs a VIPKID teacher, I taught over 730 Chinese students in more than 2,440 classes. Online English as a Second Language TeacherAs a Cambly Kids teacher, I had the privilege of teaching over 217 students in more than 1,750 classes. My students come from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic backgrounds, representing diverse nationalities, ethnicities, and religions. English as a Second Language TeacherIn my role as an ESL teacher, I taught young adult Chinese students with the goal of helping them achieve academic-level English proficiency, primarily at the intermediate level.
