Hello everyone! My name is Ethan and I am originally from New York, but I currently live in Barcelona where I now teach English at a university and in several companies. I am a recent graduate from a master's degree in linguistics, language enthusiast, freelance translator and world traveler who speaks English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, Catalan and German. My passion is not only learning languages, but also teaching them. I enjoy discussing many diverse topics such as sports, world news, travel, gastronomy and more. Therefore, we will have a lot to talk about and we can have lessons learning vocabulary and sayings for such topics.我的教學經歷
I have experience teaching in many different settings from elementary schools to universities and language schools in several countries. I have been teaching in Spain for four years now originally in primary and secondary schools, however most recently in a university and various companies. I am easygoing, but also very motivational to help my students achieve their goals. I enjoy using the students mother tongue to help clarify concepts if possible, however (depending on the level) we will also try to use as much English as possible because practice makes perfect. I will also suggest activities and other things that the students can do outside of the lessons to continue practicing.我的課程內容與教學風格
My lessons will be personalized based on the student because I believe that there is no best way to learn a language since everyone learns differently. We will discuss your goals and I will learn about your difficulties. Afterwards, we can start creating a lesson plan specific for you in order to get you the best outcome. I like to diversify my resources by using sources on many different topics to practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking. We can focus on American English, learn about English from around the world, or we could even focus on slang and informal speech from New York. With me, the possibilities are endless because I will work around what the student wants to learn.我的教材

English, Spanish and French TeacherI am currently working as an in-person English, French and Spanish instructor at a private university called Toulouse Business School (TBS). My courses are for bachelor's and master's students with various different levels and focuses such as Business English, and preparation for the IELTS and TOEIC exams. I am also a French and English in-company teacher both on site, as well as online with several companies around Spain. I have taught over 15 groups and over 150 students through this company.
2021 - 2023
English TeacherDuring my first year, I assisted and taught in all classes at a bilingual elementary school in Seville. Additionally, I interpreted at Erasmus+ events in the Seville area with the school and translated the school's website from Spanish to English. I then moved to Madrid where I taught and assisted in English and history classes at a bilingual high school. My responsibilities included planning lessons, organizing activities for both schools on various topics, and providing private lessons.
2021 - 2022
Teaching Assistant and EditorI assisted in online teaching for English, Spanish, French and Italian courses in various levels for students aged from 12-80. I also edited course content in the aforementioned languages to improve the accuracy of the teaching materials.
2020 - 2021
English Language AssistantI assisted in lessons and held online support sessions for a high-level English linguistics course while studying abroad in Germany. I mainly provided assistance to students with pronunciation and speaking skills, but I also had to write reports for the head professor on the student's progress and attendance in my sessions.

碩士 - Theoretical and Applied LinguisticsI enrolled in 65 ECTS (60 ECTS minimum) with 10 courses ranging from Teaching Spanish Grammar to Comparative Linguistics. I learned numerous skills throughout this master’s, such as researching, experimentation, ethics and using relevant technology like Praat and RStudio to process linguistic data. Courses were all completed on campus in Barcelona. My thesis titled “What Sicily can learn from Catalonia about minority language normalization” is in the process of being published.
2017 - 2021
學士學位 - Modern LanguagesI double majored in German and French, and double minor in Spanish and Italian. I was also a member of the German Honor Society and a recipient of four German and French awards. Along the way I studied in France and Germany, both for a semester each, as well as a month program in Argentina and an intensive summer French immersion program at Middlebury College. In the end, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with 144 credits, even though only 120 were required.
