My name is Sonia. I am a native German speaker and have been working as a professional teacher of German as a foreign language for many years.
I am also a cognitive scientist, fascinated by techniques that support the brain in learning a language.

Ich habe Phonetik, Linguistik und Psychologie studiert und meine Doktorarbeit über die Kognition von Sprache geschrieben. Ich unterrichte seit vielen Jahren im Einzel- und Gruppenunterricht, in Präsenz und online. Ich habe auch die Qualifikation als telc-Prüferin.
I studied phonetics, linguistics, and psychology and wrote my doctoral thesis on language cognition. I have been teaching German for many years to individuals and groups—both face-to-face and online, privately and at the adult education center (VHS). In meinen Stunden trainieren wir praktische Alltagskonversation, strukturierte Grammatik und authentische Aussprache. Dafür nutze ich viele interessante Materialien und Methoden. Ich unterrichte alle Niveaus.
My classes include both everyday conversation training and structured grammar exercises. I use engaging professional teaching materials and a variety of teaching methods. I teach all levels, offer individual pronunciation training, exam preparation, and job application coaching. My goal is to enable you to speak fluently and communicate confidently with any German native speaker.我的教材

Sonja hat mir bei der Vorbereitung auf das Vorstellungsgespräch sehr geholfen! Es war nicht nur nützlich, die verschiedenen Interviewfragen im Unterricht zu besprechen, sondern auch alle Antworten später nachlesen zu können, da Sonja sie während des Unterrichts aufgeschrieben und mir zugeschickt hat.

I've been learning German for a long time and don't have trouble speaking in daily life, but I'm embarrassed that I still sound distinctly French. But because my pronunciation is not completely terrible and people can understand me, it's generally hard for native speakers or even teachers to tell me what exactly I am doing wrong. So I was very happy with my first session with Sonia, as she was able to assess what I need to work on and already taught me many rules I had never heard of. She also sent me notes of everything we discussed, which is very helpful as it lists everything I need to improve. It is clear that she is very knowledgeable and I also had a lot of fun speaking with her, so I look forward to working on my pronunciation with her.
