I am a native speaker of English, born and raised in New York. I hold a PhD in linguistics from Stony Brook University. I have a true passion for pronunciation and grammar, and have taught university courses on phonetics and syntax for over 10 years.我的教學經歷
I am comfortable teaching true beginners as well as highly advanced students, and am happy to tailor each lesson to your particular strengths and interests. Teaching is something to be taken seriously, but it's equally important that both of us are having fun, otherwise the learning won't happen.我的課程內容與教學風格
I enjoy creating phonetics and grammar drills to work on students' weak spots, and establishing a warm, friendly environment where you can feel free to be as expressive as possible, knowing that your mistakes will be eventually be corrected, but not in a way that breaks up the flow of the conversation.我的教材

I think Russell has an abundant of knowledge not only about English but language, which makes sense since he has a PhD in Linguistics. The pronunciation couses are very helpful. Russell speaks Mandarin so he understands where and how I struggle with English pronunciation. He even knows or noticed some things about the Chinese language that I am not aware of (I am a native Mandarin speaker). He can go deep in theory but can also provide good examples and tips.
