🖐Hi, there, I am Jie, who can make you speak Chinese confidently
I’m from Northern China, and I graduated from the University of Alberta, Canada.
I love being a Chinese teacher because I really enjoy sharing Chinese history and culture with people from all over the world. In my lessons, I always weave interesting cultural stories and historical facts into learning, so classes are fun, lively and never boring.
I have more than 5 years of teaching experience. I’m especially good at:
• Total beginner Chinese
• HSK preparation
• Daily/General conversational Chinese

I have 3 years of online teaching experience and 2 years of offline teaching experience, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges students face when learning Chinese.
I know exactly where students usually struggle, and I have developed my own useful tips and simple methods to help you master the language more easily.
For example, many beginners feel confused when making sentences—especially about sentence structure and word order. I will break this down step by step, make it clear and easy to follow, so you can build correct sentences confidently.

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about the parts of the day according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. We also talked about facial differences due to geography. I told Jie about my experience working with a deaf person. Jie does a nice job of keeping the conversation going!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about a variety of topics, including school tests and study habits, "losing face" and "chasing immortality". I always have interesting conversations with Jie, and she does a good job of relating things to her personal experience and things that are going on in China!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about different topics, including hoarders, hand-me-downs and family stories. We also talked about time seeming to go faster and how our preferences change as we get older. Jie always does a nice job of using her own personal experience to make the lesson fun and interesting!

Great lesson with Jie! We talked about different topics, including eating meat vs. vegetables, different dialects in China and sunbathing. Jie told me about her father cooking for her, which was pretty funny the way she told it. Jie always has plenty to talk about and she also listens well!
