Hi! I’m Britney, a native Filipino speaker from the Philippines, fluent in Filipino and English. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English Language Studies.
Outside of teaching, I love playing with my dogs, dancing, reading books and articles, watching series and films, playing mobile games, and spending time with friends. I’m also passionate about learning languages, and I am currently studying Korean and Spanish. 🤓

Since 2021, I’ve been teaching on iTalki, working with learners of all ages and from diverse cultural backgrounds, including children and complete beginners.

I'm quite shy and a lot of times even in my native language English I get nervous and can't think of things to say but Britney is so patient and her comforting personality makes it easy to feel relaxed. She really tries to challenge and encourage me in speaking Tagalog so I feel I'm progressing a lot just two lessons in!

Teacher Brit was very helpful and patient with my learning today. I stopped taking lessons and studying for a few weeks so I needed to review, and today’s lesson really helped refresh my memory but most importantly made me realize Teacher Brit’s approach to teaching is what makes me motivated to keep learning and not give up! Teacher Brit is very understanding, patient, considerate, thoughtful, enthusiastic, encouraging, supportive, and caring. I was nervous starting class tonight but Teacher Brit’s approach made me comfortable and I now feel more confident with continuing my learning journey with Brit!

An enjoyable part of my day!
Even after a long day at work, I look forward to having class with Britney. She is so positive and encouraging, I can't help but feel uplifted and motivated when I leave her class.
This is my tenth class with Britney and already I am seeing results at home. I am speaking more and more with my Filipina mother everyday and I look forward to showing off what I've learned with my Filipino friends and coworkers each day. Britney not only helps me practice my grammar and pronunciation, what I enjoy most is that it feels like our Tagalog conversations are becoming more relaxed and natural. Maraming salamat po Britney for your patience and kindness in helping me learn wikang Pilipino!

Short review on previous lessons always helps me retain information and today’s class started with reviewing so it was very helpful. Role playing was an essential part of this lesson as it allowed me to learn to speak and understand while in a conversation scenario. Role playing is a fun but important way to learn, and today’s lesson was enjoyable and rewarding.
