It is so much fun to learn with Gina. She adapts to my knowledge level and I make great progress with her. She is great at explaining and gives real life examples for me to learn. She also helps communicating with my family on the Philippines and I am very grateful for that.

it was absolutely brilliant. I now understand the basic phonetic structure and alphabet system of Cebuano. The specific phonetic nuances and differences were discussed. It was a structured class, paced around the individual learning. lots of recall, and self input. lots of personal participation. great feed back given and lots of learnings related to a person's experience so they own the learnings. Great job. wonderful language tutor. and I can be a very demanding student wanting to ask lots of questions. But because of the teachers ability to remain task focused, we achieved allot. ps all of my questions and thoughts were addressed as the teacher has excellent empathy and understanding of her student needs.

Rosie has been a great teacher and is really patient with me learning Cebuano. She is understanding and adjusts well to my skill level. She is always prepared with a lesson plan and sends me materials beforehand to get me prepped for the lesson.

A great lesson with Jhon. I could not ask for more of a teacher. He is consistent and udnsrstsndinhg to my needs. I don't usually give reviews online as most is services lack, but Jhon goes above and beyond to help upskill me in my Bisaya journey. Recommended to all.

Jhoanna is a patient, encouraging teacher who brings a lot of positive energy into lessons! As a teacher by profession, I can really see the practical experience she leverages even here on italki. And as a plus for me, she had lived in the same city that I called a hometown in the Philippines, so we're able to incorporate that into our lessons! For our first lesson, Teacher Jhoanna prepared some slides showcasing what's changed there since I moved away as a teenager, so that we could talk (in Cebuano) in depth about that. It was very enjoyable, engaging, and educational for me, while being able to practice and refresh on the language. I wholeheartedly recommend Jhoanna for anyone's Cebuano learning needs. I’ve gone through other teachers trying to teach biasya and this one is by far one of the best on this platform. She is very well prepared for the class explains to you the weekly goals of what you will learn, and also very educated in formal and informal ways to speak the language. Two thumbs up.
