Since I have many italki teachers myself, I know how important it is, to make the student speak. YES - YOU HAVE TO SPEAK! IN GERMAN! And I promise: It's not as hard as you think! Let's neglect the difficult grammar for a while and you will be surprised how soon you will be able to comunicate! Let me give you an example: What if I said: "Have he cat?" instead of "Does he have a cat?" - It's wrong, but totally understandable! -> So if you say "Er haben Katze?" instead of "Hat er eine Katze?" everybody will be able to understand you!

Through my work as an Aupair in which I practised German with Kids aged 6 to 10 and through my language studies at University I learned that you can only teach others if you are also willing to learn and consistently drive to better your own skills. I accept lesson cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours in advance. I see value in a lot of different methods of language learning. However, the best method is useless if you lose motivation halfway, and even with a less efficient method you can be successful in learning a language if you have fun doing it. That is why I am convinced that maintaining passion and motivation should be on top of our priority list.
