I cannot recommend working with Veronica enough! She is incredibly easy to talk to and to understand and I have learned SO much. I've tried working with other teachers but Veronica is by far my favorite. I can feel how much I've improved even after just six lessons with her. I've recommended her to everyone in my life interested in learning Italian. Thank you, Veronica!

Unlike less experienced instructors, Michela knows how to create a framework where even a cold beginner like myself is able to speak Italian (on limited, well-defined topics) during the sessions. Less experienced instructors talk at you too much and are not interested in your broken, painful to hear Italian. Not Michela. She's knows what is "good" coming from a beginner, and appreciates your slow, painful effort at piecing the words together. She enables you to actually practice the language. Surprisingly, less experienced instructors aren't so interested in that after the first session or two. Michela is also super energetic, positive, and encouraging, even late in the evening. She transforms learning Italian from painful to engaging.

Francesca is an excellent teacher. The materials were just right for my level, and I learned so much about the grammar, idiomatic expressions, and the culture. I was encouraged to speak with many prompts and materials that I could relate to. She is very experienced and sensitive to the needs of her students. E molto brava!

Simona is an excellent teacher. She is not just someone to practice conversation with. She’s very kind, acknowledging and encouraging. She notes your mistakes and sends you pages of notes afterward with detailed examples, explanations and exercises. I find them extremely helpful. I think she really goes above and beyond what one would expect. I highly recommend her!

In English: Giorgio is a joy to be with, and a pleasure to speak with in Italian. He’s emotionally connected and available, meaning that he’s able to listen very well, and respond equally thoughtfully. He’s a careful thinker, perceptive, and is a warmly accepting human being as regards personal distinctions and individual differences; he works from a place of kindness when correcting me and when errors sometimes hurt a bit, he is aware, and soothes me that so I can accept a mistake I’ve made and learn from it. For me, it’s a necessary gentleness he possesses and offers easily. I’m very grateful for all of these aspects of Giorgio, and more.

Filippo is the most experienced and dedicated teacher I have met on italki. He puts a lot of thought into designing the course, making sure there is a suitable amount of material to look at and think about each time (for my curriculum, one movie at a time)—and in this way I feel that the class time becomes two or third times more productive than usual. The conversation is always warm and stimulating, and I feel at ease and motivated to formulate my thoughts and use complex sentences slightly above my level. Filippo is also extremely knowledgeable about italian cinema, and each film I watch is tailored to my own interests and needs. I find it hard to imagine a more dedicated, supportive, and effective teacher than Filippo. I understand why his slots are always booked—He is a rare find on italki!
