As a young girl, I used to teach my friends and younger kids in my neighborhood different subjects. That is when I developed my passion for teaching. I enjoyed watching them learn and grow and develop confidence and pride in themselves. Some Swahili teachers make things very formal, structured and heady (But that can be stressful--and boring!). I find that my students learn best in a relaxed, comfortable and connective conversations--the same way as we learned to speak as kids.
